  • Chicago Race Riot of 1919 Bus Tour, Afternoon, Thursday June 4th
The Chicago Race Riot of 1919 remains the bloodiest episode of racial violence in the city’s history. 38 people were killed, 537 were injured, and more than a thousand left homeless in nearly a week of mass violence across large parts of the city. Despite its huge impact on the subsequent shape and development of the city, the Chicago Race Riot of 1919 is long forgotten.  Join The Chicago Race Riot of 1919 Commemoration Project for this two-hour bus tour of Bronzeville and Bridgeport as we explore this momentous event in Progressive Era history.
Pickup: In front of Loyola Water Tower Campus Schreiber Center, 16 E Pearson Street
    Price: $30/person
